I grew up in the middle of the Kansas prairie- the furthest from the ocean as you can get in the continental United States, but I always had a passion for the sea. For me, the ocean was a magical unknown, a place of mystery that I desperately wanted to explore. I got the chance when my family began teaching English in Egypt, and the Red Sea is where I first fell in love. As a longtime science communicator and student of Johns Hopkins University’s M.A. in Science Writing, I have extensive experience creating unique and interesting copy that your audience will not only understand, but love.

Shark Safety
Blake has extensive in-water experience working with tiger sharks, Galapagos, hammerheads, and reef sharks. As a PADI Divemaster and Freediving Instructor, she has been an on air presenter for local and international television documentaries, and specializes in shark conservation both on screen and behind the scenes.
